Having a baby or just given birth? What a magical time for you and your family.

My role as a doula is to support and nurture you through this amazing journey you have embarked upon.

The first three months after having a baby can be so trying; beautiful, but difficult.

It is called the fourth trimester - when baby still needs to be so close to you, to feel you and sleep on you. This is the time for amazing bonding; but some can find this a little tricky, especially is you have other children.

I would ease the strain. Help in any way that is suited to you and your family.

Holding baby while you shower or have a hot cup of tea. Look after the otehr children while you feed baby. Tidy up around the house while you and baby have a well earned nap.

Whatever it may be, I will provide it to ensure the smooth transition into motherhood.

Doulas have been around for centuries and they provide an unparalleled level of support.

Studies have shown that having a doula as a member of the birth team decreases the overall cesarean rate by 50%, the length of labor by 25%, the use of oxytocin by 40%, and requests for an epidural by 60%.
